The Michigan Department of Natural Resources may lift the ban on the harvesting of all white or Albino deer. The Natural Resources commision meets Thursday June 5th and will be considering an amendment that would make it legal to harvest all white or albino deer in Michigan. It has always been legal to harvest piebald deer, which are mostly white with brown patches. Some confusion in deciding if some deer are piebald or albino is the main cause for the proposed amendment. If the amendment is approved at the Natural Resources Commision meeting, it will be legal to harvest both piebald and albino whitetail deer in the 2008 hunting season.

For more information including details on a trophy piebald whitetail visit this article in The Cheboygan Daily Tribune.
