Newly-renovated wildlife area, managed for waterfowl, will be showcased
MANKATO — On Thursday, Sept. 9, managers of Jamestown Wildlife Area invite area hunters and anyone interested in the area to come out and see the conditions first hand. A driving tour will begin from the area office at 6 p.m., and attendees will see the challenges of the past years’ management and how managers move water and flood pools. This will be an excellent opportunity for the public to see what was done during extensive renovation on the area the past few years and how it works.

At 7:30 p.m., Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks migratory game bird coordinator Faye McNew will give a presentation on nesting conditions and waterfowl numbers for the upcoming fall, as well as the 2010 waterfowl season dates, bag limits, and habitat conditions throughout the Central Flyway.
