Group's efforts improved 31,000 acres of Kansas wildlife habitat in 2009
SALINA — Kansas Pheasants Forever/Quail Forever (PF/QF) will hold its 2010 Kansas State Habitat Meeting on Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Ramada Inn in Salina. The event will begin in the morning and feature seminars covering land management, bird dogs, and upland hunting. The meeting will conclude with the Kansas PF/QF State Banquet at 6:30 p.m.

Seminars throughout the day include the following:

  • Conservation Reserve Program maintenance and management;
  • Natural Resources Conservation Service landowner help desk;
  • hunting dog health and care;
  • estate planning help desk; and
  • hunting tips and wild game cooking.

"We have an excellent slate of seminars for this year's banquet, and we encourage anyone interested to attend," said Jordan Martincich, PF/QF regional representative for eastern Kansas. "It's a great chance to meet fellow conservationists and become part of something that will help conserve wildlife habitat in Kansas for many years to come."

Kansas PF/QF includes 42 Pheasants Forever chapters and nine Quail Forever chapters, comprising 5,300 members. In 2009, they completed 500 wildlife habitat projects benefiting pheasants, quail, and other wildlife on approximately 31,700 acres.
