A 4 year-old male grizzly bear was captured near Ferndale by FWP Wildlife Conflict Specialist Erik Wenum this week. Ferndale is located southeast of Kalispell along the Swan Mountain front. A bear had been getting into dog food in the area, so FWP bear managers set a trap to address it. The grizzly that was captured may or may not have been the problem bear, but it was fitted with an ear tag-transmitter and transported out of the area in a pre-emptive move.
