At the request of fire officials, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks closed a seven-mile stretch of the lower Blackfoot River from Wisherd Bridge to the confluence with the Clark Fork today. FWP says the closure is necessary for public safety as aircraft dip water out of the river to fight the West Riverside Fire.
