The Fourth of July annually kicks off Montana’s summer fun on more than 170,000 miles of rivers and streams and hundreds of lakes and reservoirs. This year, almost everywhere you look, there are reminders that summer fun comes with a new responsibility for Montanans and visitors to “inspect, clean, and dry” boats, trailers and fishing gear to “stop aquatic hitchhikers.”
