FWP personnel shot and killed a mountain lion this morning that had been frequenting barns and eating cats in a residential area near Whitefish Stage Road, about five miles north of Kalispell. Bear and Lion Specialist Erik Wenum received a call from landowners in the area yesterday regarding the lion, which had been sighted in a barn. The lion was killing barn cats. This morning the lion was seen in another barn, and it ran across the road and under a neighbor’s deck. The landowner called FWP this morning to report the new sightings.
