Recently Pirogue State Park has experienced heavy flooding so the site is closed for public use due to safety concerns. The entry gate to the park is signed closed to public use and will remain so until further notice. The northern portion of the Park is flooded producing hazardous conditions prompting public safety concerns. The public is advised to not use the access road beginning at the Kinsey Highway to avoid potential surface damage and to eliminate the possibility for vehicles to become mired in mud.
