Bear Spray must be clearly labeled "for deterring attacks by bears" according to the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee's Web site. Purchase products that are registered with the Environmental Protection Agency. The agency's Bear Deterrent Web site lists registered bear spray manufacturers.
