During March and early April this spring, FWP and U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologists as well as many avid birding volunteers will be simultaneously surveying much the Flathead and Smith Valleys for swans, geese, ducks, and other water birds and shorebirds that migrate through our valleys each spring. This event which happens every year is one of our best indicators that spring is on the way.
