A first time visit to the National Firearms Museum is a very exciting experience for any firearms enthusiast. For Alberto Hagar, a resident of Yucatan, Mexico, it was downright inspirational. In town to visit friends and the nation's capitol, Hagar spent a whole day touring the Museum and getting a behind the scenes look at the NRA. After his experiences, he shared some insights with NRAblog:
“I love the NRA because of their strong defense of gun rights. In my country an organization like this does not exist," Hagar said. "In American society, this right has been guaranteed to the people for many decades and because of that I think it would be easy to take a freedom like this for granted. The NRA is doing a great service by making people aware of how much of a liberty that ownership of a firearm really is."
"Considering the crime rate in Mexico, if the people could own firearms under the same type of laws as here in America, there would be deterrence of crime because those who wish to do harm would know the population is not helpless to defend themselves."
"My experience here [at NRA Headquarters] has illustrated all that the NRA has to offer," Hagar said. "In addition to being a very informative experience, I have had a lot of fun."
