John Parker and the truckJohn Parker of the NRA's Competitive Shooting division is perhaps best known for his cross-country drives. (Revisit his reflections on Camp Perry here.)

When he's not behind the wheel of a big rig hauling competitive shooting merchandise and supplies, he's hard at work at NRA HQ in Fairfax, Virginia. Parker wanted us to pass the following important update to our readers:

"We've designed a new NRA Sanctioned League handbook," he told NRAblog. "This version is the most up-to-date we have, and it's free!"

The following chapters are included in the 32-page handbook: Why have a league?; League sponsorship; getting started; awards scheduling; postal leagues; handicaps; suggested courses of fire; reporting scores; sample league bylaws; and league bulletins.

What are you waiting for? To request your new handbook, e-mail Parker at compadmin@nrahq.org. For more general competitions information, call 1-877-672-6282.
