Helped by some winter-like weather in October, elk hunting on the Rocky Mountain Front has been steady. Into the third week of the state's five-week elk season, hunting district 424, southwest of the Sun River Wildlife Management Area, has reached its quota of 10 antlerless or brow-tined elk. The season is now for brow-tined bull only until Nov. 29. A brow-tined bull is an elk having at least one antler with a visible point four inches or greater on the lower half of either main beam.
