State parks officials working with a U.S. Forest Service crew have cleared a channel on the Smith River of hazardous logjams. Last summer, floaters faced a dilemma just upstream of the Eden Bridge take out. At river mile 57.3 and ndash; near the mouth of Hound Creek and ndash; the safest channel on river left became too shallow, while the main channel on river right was clogged with hazardous logjams.
