On October 3rd, NRA’s Youth Programs Department attended the 25th Annual Joe Gibbs Youth for Tomorrow Country Fair event in Bristow, Virginia. Program Coordinators Barry Ranney, Claudia Olsen, and Mark Belli ran an air gun range for attendees, with over 300 people taking their shot.
“We wanted to introduce people to the shooting sports,” said Ranney. “Most of the people had never shot before.”
Former Washington Redskins player and NRA Board Member Dave Butz was also on hand at the air gun range, showing attendees his Super Bowl rings and signing autographs. Hall of Fame Washington Redskins Coach Joe Gibbs opened the Youth for Tomorrow facility in 1986 to help troubled young men through a residential treatment program combining character rehabilitation, quality education, personal faith, and life skills. The now co-ed facility has helped nearly 800 youth since opening its doors.
