The staff of the NRA National Firearms Museum are ready to welcome you to their haunted, history-filled home. Staff are busy today with costume finalization and preparation of the 18 galleries which will be decked out in ghoulish decorations.

If you find yourself in the greater Washington DC area this weekend, make your way to the Museum for a memorable event. The NRA Museum Store, which recently celebrated a grand reopening, will remain open throughout the extended event hours.

Drop by any time between 4 and 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, or 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Costumes are encouraged, or come to see your favorite firearms historians in costume. Senior Curator Phil Schreier, pictured at left, never disappoints.

"This year promises to be a great event with free treats for kids and food and fun for all," Museum Director Jim Supica told NRAblog.

Supica, whose standard  costume is a cowboy of the Old West, is finishing his first year as Director of the Museum."It's been a great year, but the best is definitely yet to come," Supica said.
