A hunter harvested a wolf at the headwaters of the Big Creek drainage near the Whitefish Range Divide this morning. This harvest meets the North Fork of the Flathead River Subunit quota of two and closes this sub-unit to all wolf hunting. This harvest is the 27th wolf taken in the Wolf Management Unit 1. The quota for WMU1 is 41; that leaves 14 wolves remaining in the quota.
