Women On Target participantThanks to Women On Target Instructional Shooting Clinic coordinator Beth Hellmann for sharing the following e-mail from Cal Kittinger of the Multi-Lakes Conservation Association.

Here are some stats that should blow the minds of clubs that have a declining membership – and today's class was small compared to others that we have done:

  • 35 women registered.
  • It was a rainy day, and 5 did not show.
  • Out of the 30 participants attending, we picked up 3 new members; that is a 10% ratio for the day.

Even with the rain, everyone had a "blast."

In addition to his service with the Women On Target, Kittinger volunteers with the local Friends of NRA committee and is an NRA Certified Instructor for Personal Protection in the Home.

"Cal is one of our busiest clinic directors,” Hellmann told NRAblog. “He has directed dozens of Instructional Shooting Clinics at Multi-Lakes Conservation Association and has trail blazed women-only hunter education clinics that culminate in pheasant hunts.”
