With the Missouri River's rising water levels, Cascade County and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials are urging motor boaters from Cascade to Sun River to reduce speeds in areas where residents have worked to protect their homes from flood waters.

Effective Tuesday June 14, 2011, the campgrounds at Bannack State Park west of Dillon have reopened to the public. According to Dale Carlson, Park Manager for Bannack State Park, "Grasshopper Creek has receded making it safe to reopen a majority of campgrounds at Bannack State Park."

Recent water quality samples at FWP Intake Fishing Access Site have tested positive for coliform bacteria. The 5 water hydrants have been posted so the public is aware of the situation. We recommend that campers at Intake bring their own water and avoid using the water facilities at the site until this issue is resolved.

With Montana's first ever free fishing Father's Day Weekend set for this weekend, Gov. Brian Schweitzer and the state's top fish and wildlife official recently took the "Clean Angling Pledge" and urged all dads to follow suit to help stop the spread of aquatic nuisance species.
