SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Seventeen West Virginia state parks and forests have recognized 91 participants during National Trails Day®, June 4, with Cacapon and Pipestem resort state parks leading the way. Ten-mile hikes were scheduled at both parks. Thirteen individuals arrived for the Bluestone Turnpike hike at Pipestem. Cacapon recognized 14 hardy hikers who joined Cacapon’s naturalist, Kelly Smith, for the “Hike Across the State” event.
