The traditional muzzleloader deer hunting season opens Dec. 14 and runs through Dec. 19, 2009, in all West Virginia counties open to buck firearm hunting. During the muzzleloader season, properly licensed hunters may take a deer of either sex in counties or portions of counties that are open to antlerless deer hunting.
