Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has extended the public comment period for a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) to grant funds to Great Falls Shooting Sports Complex for a shooting range development grant project. The range is located approximately 3 miles north of Great Falls. This project will provide $28,000 in partial funding towards improving the 300-yard range into a 600-yard range.

A draft environmental assessment has been prepared for a proposal by the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks to construct a campground at Brush Lake State Park. The park, established in late 2005, is located about 31 miles southeast of Plentywood near the Montana-North Dakota border.

State game wardens are asking for help in finding who shot a bull moose illegally on the Rocky Mountain Front. The animal was probably killed between Nov. 12-14 along the Teton River in the Lewis and Clark National Forest west of Choteau, says Rod Duty, Fish, Wildlife and Parks game warden. "It was a bull moose with antlers that measured 30 inches wide," Duty says. "It was just shot and left.
